Terms of Service
Version 2.1 · Last updated: Oct 5, 2026
1. Who provides ILC
ILC is a free file conversion service operated under the CNS Studios brand (a team of developers; CNS Studios is a brand name, not a company) by:
Aaron Gerkens, operating as a part of CNS Studios, Mittelstraße 79, 22869 Schenefeld, Germany
Email: legal@cns.ad
"We" in these terms means the operator named above, acting under the CNS Studios brand. "You" means the person using ILC. How we handle personal data is described in the Privacy Policy.
2. What ILC offers
ILC converts and processes files. It has two modes:
- Local mode: processing happens in your browser. Your files are not sent to us.
- Online mode: your file is uploaded to our servers in Germany, processed there, and made available for download. It is deleted automatically (section 5).
Using online mode requires accepting these terms and the Privacy Policy. Local mode can be used without accepting them, but sections 6 to 10 apply to it as well.
3. Who may use ILC
- You must be at least 16 years old.
- ILC is intended for private, personal use. If you want to process other people's personal data in online mode as part of a business or professional activity, please use local mode, or contact us first, because additional agreements would be required by law.
4. Free service and fair use
ILC is free. No account is needed. To keep it available for everyone, there are limits on file size (500MB) and on the number of requests per IP address. We may change these limits at any time. You may not bypass or overload them, for example by automated bulk requests, distributed requests, or attacks on the service. If you need larger volumes, please ask us first.
5. Storage and deletion
Uploaded files are deleted as soon as processing is finished or has failed. Converted files and their job records are deleted 1 hour after completion at the latest (the cleanup runs every 10 minutes), or earlier when you delete them. Download your result promptly. After deletion it cannot be recovered, and we keep no backups of files. Keep your original files. You use ILC at your own risk, and we cannot guarantee that a conversion is lossless, error-free, or suited to your purpose.
6. Your responsibilities
You are responsible for the files you process. You promise that:
- you have the right to process them, including any rights of other people, such as copyright and personal data;
- they do not contain or constitute anything illegal, in particular child sexual abuse material, content that glorifies violence, or malware;
- you will not use ILC to harm the service, other users, or third parties.
7. Rights in your files
You keep all rights in your files and results. We do not claim any license other than the technical permission to process, temporarily store, and deliver them to you, to the extent this is needed to provide the service.
8. Reports of illegal content and our right to act
If you think ILC is being used for something illegal, write to legal@cns.ad with the job ID or a description. We may delete files, block IP addresses, or limit access if we have reason to believe these terms are being violated or the law requires it. Where we are legally required to do so, we will notify the competent authorities.
9. Availability and changes
ILC is provided free of charge and without a guaranteed availability. We may change, interrupt, or discontinue the service or parts of it at any time, for example for maintenance or because of costs or time. Since the service is free, there is no claim for compensation for this.
10. Liability
- We are fully liable for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body, or health, and wherever the law mandatorily provides for liability (for example under the Product Liability Act or data protection law).
- For slight negligence we are only liable for the breach of an essential contractual obligation (one whose fulfilment makes proper use of the service possible in the first place and on which you can regularly rely), and then limited to the foreseeable damage typical for this kind of service.
- Otherwise our liability is excluded. This particularly applies to data loss caused by the deletion described in section 5.
These limits also apply to the team members and helpers acting for us.
11. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms for good reason, for example changes in the law or the service. The current version is always at https://ilc.cns.ad/terms. For changes that affect your rights, online mode asks you to accept the new version. If you do not agree, you can continue to use local mode or stop using ILC.
12. Closing provisions
German law applies, except that mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence remain unaffected. If a provision is invalid, the rest stays valid. Participation in dispute resolution before a consumer arbitration board is neither required nor planned.
